Multipulse is the key supplier of energy management systems to the UK rail industry. The company has won three of the main contracts to date for these systems.

The energy management system comprises on-board and land-based elements. The on-board element consists of the energy meter, transducers, a combined GSM / GPS antenna and an optional Eco Drive Advisory System (EDAS). The land-based elements consist of a Data Collection Server (DCS) and a web-based graphical user interface that can be used to interrogate the DCS in order to extract the required data from any train and at any customer site.
